My Mistake

Oops, so the first day of winter wasn't til the 24th of October, hah!  But hey I was pretty close.  It's pretty cool, the day is celebrated by having fun activities on the street and also free meat soup is handed out, yum.  I missed it this year because unfortunately I was a week ahead, oh well.  The days are getting shorter and a bit crispier.  I haven't been out much but hopefully I'll be brave enough to face the elements later this week.  Oh, here is a music video, Hoppípolla by Sigur Rós.  It's a really cute video and it was recorded in my neighborhood!!  You can get a glimpse of my apartment building (it's the cobalt blue one), corner store and cemetery.  Fun, fun!

Winter?

This Wednesday was the first day of winter here in Iceland.  The seasons are a bit different...long winter, little spring, medium summer and then a short autumn, hah, or something like that.  Well, either way, the weather is perfect year round for making soups, hot choco and baking yummy cakes!  I wonder when it will begin to snow.  I took a stroll to the pond/park near my house this week and it was partially frozen.  Here are a few pictures that I took this week.

Monday Melody

Hæ! How was your weekend? I mostly relaxed at home and played with my little princess. She is growing so fast! We did manage to squeeze in a little stroll downtown. We went to have dinner at the Icelandic Bar. I like this place because it has pretty good food at a reasonable price. It's also very cozy and not too packed.
